Yeah, it's all seemed a bit too flighty for me. He's tacking to the center now. I give him credit for changing his position when things aren't working, unlike Bush who stayed the course even when the course was on a track to failure. However, I always knew focusing on health care in his first year of office was a serious tactical mistake. If it had been me, I would have rallied the 80% of Americans that are for oil independence and would have spent all that stimulus money on incentives to drilling everywhere, incentives for nuclear power, natural gas, wind, and solar, and hybrid electric cars. I would not have bailed out GM or Wall Street. I would have let the too big to fails fail. And I would have removed our large troop numbers from Iraq and Afghanistan. That would have made me a pretty popular President fulfilling promises and racking up serious wins for the American people.

Health care consumed his agenda and he accomplished nothing. Now he has people like me who voted for him pissed and he has the lefties pissed and he has the GOP pissed, which would have been pissed anyway. He has a deep hole to crawl out from. But he's made some good calls too. He's upped the covert fight in Pakistan. He's spent more on renewable energy than any past President. He's starting to clamp down on China's currency abuses with his first shot across the bow by selling arms to Taiwan. It looks like he's getting more serious about nuclear power. So there are some good things he's doing. I'll keep rooting for him, especially now that he's tacking towards the center. Hopefully, he gets some help from Congress, but that's doubtful.
