HOW COULD PEOPLE AFFORD TO LIVE IN CALIFORNIA...

Without prop 13?????

I spoke to retiree in Sausalito last week who bought his home 38 years ago and paid it off. It's probably worth 1.5 million.

Without prop 13 taxes on his home would probably be 1.25% or over $18,000 per year.

Taxes and fees in CA are refarkingdiculous,

I just checked on the cost to put a 1000 sq ft structure up in foothills east of Fresno.

they have one fee after another and when you add them all up I guestimate the building fees and permits to be between $11-$12k

A lot of people are packing their bags and moving OUT of California. We're having a REVERSE DUSTBOWL.
