You can paint water base paint on oil based paint if you use something called PRIMER first. Ever heard of it?

Or you can use a couple coats of primer/sealer over water based lead paint and then paint it with water based paint.

Don't they have PRIMER in Canada?

The real danger of lead based paint is really if it chips off and someone eats it.
