I agree that doing it just because Bush did is a really bad thing.

However, I point out the inconsistency in GOP thinking precisely because the GOP is not looking for solutions. They are only looking to snipe. For example, on terrorism, they criticize Obama for putting the underwear bomber into a civilian trial, and yet, Bush put over 190 terrorists, including the shoe bomber through civilian trials. So I agree it's a stupid idea and I prefer military tribunals, but criticism coming from the GOP is really hypocritical. Same goes for their criticism of the deficit, which they created most of and are now unwilling to participate in the reduction of.
