It appears that you equate paying more taxes with "caring about other people or their society". I'm not sure I'd readily agree with that.<<

Well, lets look at a few societies for examples. Take Denmark or Sweden. A recent poll said the Danes are the happiest people on earth. Happy is a pretty good goal, don't you think?

The Danes and Swedes pay almost 50% in taxes. And in Denmark and Sweden everyone has health care and everyone can get a phd for free and take as long as they want to get it.

When we realize ensuring our childrne have a proper education and good health care and that is more important than their making a million dollars, then we will have taken a big step toward enlightenment.
