David you wrote,

LEAPs are taxed 60% short term gain 40% long term gain

I am new to this LEAP taxing.

If I understand correctly, only 40% or 60% of LEAPS profits are taxed as capital gains whereas in the equity position all (100%)the profits are taxed.

How about short term options? Is there any documentation where I can verify this.

Thanks
