Both are excellent strategies which I use. But you have to remember when selling covered calls you are limiting your upside potential while excepting full downside risk. Same with selling naked puts. So if the market tanks you will get burned. That is why I do it only on high quality stocks that I can live with. Also when playing options keep track of the x div days since dividends are usually priced in options and they may get called away if deep in the money.
