I agree with Lindy. When has letting the Federal Government call the shots ever solved ANYTHING?

I agree in principle. But then again, we're still sitting facing the elephant in the living room and wondering why other countries are able to spend far less of their GDP, while still providing quality health care.

The Japanese go to the doctor about 3 times as often as Americans, yet their costs appear to be lower. They obviously still have their issues, but so do we.

Letting monopolies call the shots isn't going to solve the problem either.

And one more thing.. without a system of affordable preventative care, what we have left is a catastrophic care system. People will wait to seek treatment to the point where they can't wait anymore. And that increases costs.

I don't like the fact that other countries can provide such care while we're seeing millions without coverage (not counting the illegal aliens).

I'm not pretending to know the answers.. I'm just asking the questions and making comparisons.
