I'm gonna chime in here re the US Constitution.

People act as if it was sent down by God just like the Ten Commandments. After nearly 250 years, it is outdated and no longer works very well. Conditions have changed - the Constitution must also. Perhaps this is the root cause of America's sclerosis.

Things are not tough enough yet for the populace to demand changes in the Constitution. As with any cure however, the longer we wait the more it's going to hurt. America has had so much success that it believes it has the magic formula. Balderdash! Hanging onto that belief is going to delay the needed adjustments. Every society must and will adjust with the passage of time - either it will do that the easy way or the long, slow, painful way.

Personally, I would start by deleting the Senate, which is the most unfair contrivance I can imagine a democracy ever instituting.

There, that was fun! Thanks for the rant place.
