My thoughts are the same as Peter's reply. Most readers of comics tend to be in flyover country, which means they are mostly conservative, mostly Christian customers. These kids are growing up in a community that overwhelmingly supports the Tea Party movement. And if they are fans of the current Capt Marvel they obviously have no problem with a black super hero.

So I have to ask myself, what the hell is the author thinking? Is it more important to win the accolades of his LWE peers or to write a successful comic that puts bread on his table?
