RW, I agree that costs are way to high, but the two of us see things very differently. You are wishing for "adults", for a "take charge" Congress. I see our healthcare as having been profoundly molded by government interference, problems and all.

Deeper government involvement will merely create new dislocations and misallocations. I doubt that we can decrease costs without simplifying the system, including a decrease in regulations and controls, tort reform, etc.

MARKET FORCES DO WORK. Today I received a bill from my Dentist, and - I'll tell ya - I made a firm decision next time to discuss costs and charges in advance. If they thought I may walk, I think the charges would have been more moderate.
