open homosexuals in the DOD is inevitable. All other major Militaries around the world now admit them.

That is an urban legend. Not true. And you would not want those armies that do defending your liberty and freedoms.
There are other tradeoffs that are not being discussed yet.

We are Americans. We are the beacon of hope and freedom for the rest of the world. The oppressed in this world strive to meet our moral standards. Only our enemies expect us to lower our standards.

FRANCE: 450,000 troops. "Scholars describe France and Belgium as countries that have adopted laissez-faire approaches to homosexual personnel. That is, they do not officially exclude them, but they also do not explicitly guarantee their right to serve."
Belgium has 85,000 troops and uses the draft.

France has a draft. Although homosexuals are not banned from French military service, it is recognized that they may face greater challenges than their heterosexual counterparts. Thus, they are allowed to opt out of military service if they wish by declaring themselves unfit because of their sexual orientation.

Commanders and psychiatrists can also discharge gay and lesbian personnel if they feel they are disrupting their units and cannot fit in."

GERMANY has 475,000 troops, accepts homosexuals as conscripts but not as volunteers. They draft near 50% of their service members. Germany does place restrictions on or early discharges a significant number of their gay men.

SWEDEN with 53,000 troops accepts homosexuals. They draft all of their troops.

ISRAEL has 140,000 troops and accepts homosexuals. They draft most of their troops.

Now I ask you, how did all 5 of these countries do in their last war?

The "under 25" generation in this country has a majority in favor of it.

Sure they are in favor. That under 25 majority you write about is in favor of anything that keeps them from serving their country.

Today's under 25 majority is largely AWOL. They need a draft to motivate them. They have taken a back seat since the last American draftee was discharged in November 1975.

Those under 25 who have chosen to serve, did and continue to do so largely very honorably and bravely. I respect them. My comments are not intended to demean their service in any way.

The lack of younger volunteers recently forced the US Army to increase the maximum acceptable age to 42 years old for a fresh recruit wanting an initial enlistment.

50% of our Green Berets on active duty today are 38 years old or older.

I don't know of any major army that is both all volunteer and accepts homosexuals.

The only two armies that I can think of that do accept homosexuals and are all volunteer are very small.
Australia has <70,000 troops, and Canada has <80,000 troops

Do we have the guts to reinstate the draft?
