I'm really fairly neutral on Palin. I'm certainly not trying to defend her so I'm thinking that perhaps your irrational fear of Palin is clouding your cognitive ability.

I think Palin will be pivotal in the 2012 election only because she will split the Republican vote. I'm guessing that she will not be embraced by the Republicans as their nominee and will represent a third party candidacy. In effect, she will become the 2012 version of Ross Perot. Ironically, history will repeat itself and this split of the conservative vote will permit another Clinton to be elected in 2012.

As we get closer to the 2012 primary season watch for Hillary to "leak" her dissatisfaction with Obama's foreign policy and ultimately resign as Sec'y of State. Shortly afterward she will begin to "publicly" air the basis of her disagreement which will be very critical of the confusion and division within the administration on Middle East policy (particularly Iran) which will be a HUGE issue by that time. Once those seeds are sewn she will announce her candidacy for the Democratic primary contests and will handily defeat a President whose poll numbers will be considerably lower by that time.

Like it or not, Sarah Palin will indeed be recognized for her roll in the election of the first woman President .... just not in a way that many think.

You heard it here first! <G>
