Biden: A stable Iraq 'could be one of the great achievements' of Obama administration?

Appearing on Larry King last night, Joe Biden said the following:

<<< I am very optimistic about -- about Iraq. I mean, this could be one of the great achievements of this administration. You're going to see 90,000 American troops come marching home by the end of the summer. You're going to see a stable government in Iraq that is actually moving toward a representative government. >>>


Considering that Joe Biden and Obama opposed the surge -- the policy that is almost singularly responsible for Iraq's current stability -- I fail to see where Biden thinks his administration deserves credit for Iraq's progress. But then giving Bush the credit he deserves here is anathema.
