I have lost my high end hearing as well. Interesting as you are the first person who described it using women's voices. Some are very easy to understand, while others have I have to run through a loop in my mind to determine what was likely said. I cannot hear a tire hissing or leaking. Constantly asking women or anybody to repeat things is just embarrassing and sometimes simply fruitless.

The doctor called it "artillery" hearing loss or something similar. These young idiots who drive around with their cars insides creating incredibly high sound pressure levels are losing their hearing and don't realize it as it is cumulative as well as irreversible. They are total idiots.

I blame the USMC and law enforcement for a combined 36 years of exposure. I also have to add one particular "Who" concert that was simply way too loud. lol

I'm not proud of it, but that's what happened. I still can't understand women's voices half the time because I can't hear their consonants
