Wiseowl, check out threads on SI, WSJ and Motley Fool, etc and look up the Y2K listings. You'll get a much clearer picture there as to what's going on...much better than I can explain. My point, and the point of professional analysts, is that this is a time and money consuming problem...one that will eat into the technology budgets of many companies. As a result, they will not be spending much on new products from Sun or anyone else unless they have a cheap and quick solution to the problem. Check out Bloomberg news on their tv channel and you will see what Congressional hearings on the matter produced yesterday. The outlook is not good. The only ones to benefit so far, on a limited scale are companies like Intersolv, PeopleSoft, ViaSoft, Compuware, etc. which have tools to help companies fix their software.
