I do not think Apple will go to $400 this year. I predict, in the absence of a world crisis that brings all the markets down, Apple will go over $260 this year. By the end of the year, I predict forward earnings estimates will be ~ $15 a share plus or minus a buck or so. Apply a very reasonable 20 P/E multiple and see what you get.

I am not dismissing MSFT, but they have a hard road in front of them and showing a development project in Spain does not do much to improve their mobile device situation - in fact, it could reasonably bring on some Osborne effect on Win 6.5. They lost a ton of mobile market share last year, and they will lose more in 2010, I think.

Apple, OTOH, has a multi-pronged mobile device strategy and is experiencing market share growth. It is also experiencing good revenue and earnings growth and has an ecosystem that contributes to that growth.

I know which scenario attracts me as an investor.
