When you go solar, billing gets switched from a monthly cycle to yearly, when they "true-up" the bill. Mine started in Sept. I can have them change my date, but I use the occasion to monitor my consumption, so I'll stick with it.
Right now, I'm still a small net consumer, a few hundred KWH/year, cuz I haven't wanted to give free electricity to PGE (corporate welfare). In April, Cash for Appliances kcra.com starts and I can get a $75 fed rebate on a new fridge. That should save me over 600KW, so I'll probably end up netting about 500KWH/year...not much , but easier to keep the lights on when you get paid for juice than it is when you have to buy it. After that, I have room for 2 more panels on the mount, but I'll probably plug in my creek, first. That'll be good for 6 months of 24 hour energy. |
