Personally, I still find the Tea Party to be a big joke. They are a party of extremists. I don't believe it is a populist party, because to be populist it would have to represent the majority of the populace. The Tea Party only represents the most extreme elements of the GOP, which makes it a very small constituency indeed.

The real populace is alot more moderate than that. I'd say we are equally pissed off at the incompetence of our leaders, but we adhere to less extreme positions.
