Start with single-payer and go from there.

Z, that's great but how do you ignore the reality? They can't get a less than robust public option passed...what makes you think they will do any better with the 'socialistic' single payer option? Seriously, maybe it would work as a negotiating tool to get the public option but not as a serious end goal. And now with the MSM freaking out and claiming this is a center right country over and over again inspite of the fact that a majority of Americans favor many progressive aspirations, I am not sure anything can or will get done. There are too many Neanderthals in this country who are easily swayed by the crazy Rs.
