Don't get me wrong, Flash is a great tool in the hands of a honest competent designer. It's great for certain kinds of interactivity. Like everyone else I love youtube. It's addicting. The problem is there are unscrupulous designers out there selling technically challenged business people stuff they don't need for way more than they need to pay and Flash is #1 on that list. I just hate that in the hands of a bad designer it can take over the CPU cycles in my computer. Adobe needs to find some way to reign these guys in. It's also poison for web ads, Jobs is so right about that. This is not conjecture. Flash is #3 complaint of web users in 2005 and I see no change from then. useit.com On reflection though most of the abuse is due to bad designers.
