That's not true. Obama was wildly popular. He drew unprecedented crowds when he held speaking events. And his Presidential popularity numbers were abnormally high upon entering office.

Huh? If he was so popular, why did he win by a very small majority.....51 or 52%? After all, he only got 44% of the white vote.......and whites are still a majority in this country.

But that popularity and mandate for big change was squandered on the alter of health care earmarks to Nelson, Lieberman, and a few other wayward Senators. Consequences for failure are a bitch.

Every major piece of legislation that is passed is made up of compromises and concessions. Why would you expect it to be different under Obama?
