You know, I'd even be ok with it, if it didn't have disastrous consequences for the solvency of this country. In short, we no longer can afford to be so generous as to foot the bill for poor people's retirement. We're broke and getting broker.

BTW, I have no real stake in that game. I have enough money already that my retirement will be completely funded regardless of whether I ever get a nickel from SS. However, I do care quite a bit about the solvency of this country and our ability to maintain and project our power globally. Economics are the foundation of that, which ensures our freedom.

As such, I want to see social security set on a sustainable path. Right now, it's heading towards disaster vis a vis our deficits and debt.
