If one of those babies goes off in downtown DC . . . you lose your Washington correspondent, and then how will Buck know when the INS appropriations bill gets signed?

On a less personally morbid note, the Washington Post's Style section had two feature articles yesterday on subjects of interest: one was the noticeable increase in identity theft, estimated now at 1,000 crimes per day, and how smart cards with "electronic signatures" can fix this, since "you will no longer be your data" to the credit card company. And I forget the other one. I'll try to find it later. Identix and finger scanning were not mentioned in either one. But it's good to see this stuff breaking into print in the general press.
