I am not sure what the fee schedule is for you broker but Wood Gundy charges more or less a percentage. The percent they charge is more on options if a minimum $ amount is not obtained (ie if selling your options nets 1-2000$ then the percent would be larger than buying 10-20000$ of stock. Also if on option expiry, the option expires in the money, then more transactions will be incurred. In general brokers make money with options.
