I do not understand how these economists were predicting a decrease in unemployment applications. I sit on the board of two job centers and know how many people are coming into those.

Maybe they should make some phone calls...

Reminds me of an old business lesson my father taught me. Years ago, he drove my grandfather around for a summer job. Our family owned cheese factories and he would drive my grandfather to the different factories. My father wore dark sunglass when he drove, and my grandfather one day asked him, where he thought the milk price would be in the near future. My father replied, "I don't know". My grandfather then told him to take of his #^$&$&^T* sunglasses and look around. The fields were brown because of insufficient rain which naturally caused the grazing cows to produce less milk which would reduction in supply and an increase in the milk price. That was the first time I heard, "some people look but do not see."

He then explained to him to disregard the people in NY offices that never leave their offices and to always go to the source...it is still a lesson unlearned by many.
