The won't tell churches to change their religion, they'll "just" say:
you can't be involved in providing social services (like adoptions, foster care, disaster relief, after school care, etc etc etc),
your property isn't tax exempt, contributions to you aren't deductible,
your members in the medical field can't refuse as a matter of conscience to take part in abortions, sex change operations, fertility treatments,
your members in the business world can't say no to providing services for gay weddings,
if you don't have gay scout leaders you can't meet on government property,
in the interest of tolerance, we're going to teach your kids all about stuff you object to,
and on and on and on - there are already real cases involving pretty much everything I've mentioned above.
We all need to grow up and stop enforcing our own beliefs on others.
The left intends to enforce their beliefs on everyone.

Re the "hate" issue:
It isn't hateful to say one wants to continue the same definition of marraige our culture has had ..... ever since our culture began. Not hatred for gays, for would-be polygamists, group marryers, or family member marryers or anyone else.
I personally think its hateful to demand that everyone else in our society change their values and opinions to agree with yours. |
