Not logical response. Democracy is rule of the majority. The majority does not necessarily grant freedom to the minority let alone the majority. It is more likely to be more free but not necessarily so.

Also depends on what kind of freedom you mean. Are you more free in a country where economic liberty is far greater than the USA, but where your freedom of speech is greatly limited. Suppose you had absolute right to free speech, but the government took 100% of your income and then redistributed some of it to you. Who is freer the man who is free to speak or the man who is economically free.
