FYI. I just saw Mitt Romney talk about health care in MA. He said that they have 97% coverage of their citizens, even though they have no government public option. In addition, the costs of the MA health care to the state are running at 1.1% of the budget, which is right on the target set when the bill was passed, which means that it did hold costs down to the lower level forecasted by the bill and that costs would have been much higher now had they not passed it. That's a strong argument against the public option and in favor of the MA health care proposal. Could it be that people, especially the GOP, have been too hard on Mitt's accomplishments in MA wrt health care? BTW, I'm a bit biased. I think Mitt is the best GOP candidate among the lot. If Mitt or Gingrich were nominated in 2012, I'd very seriously consider voting for them. They are both of the honorable stripe of Republican that are a blast from the past, unlike the new crop of low IQ GOP candidates like Palin who hold very little sway among the educated corner of the GOP.
