Its not true I don't want rights for gays at all. I want them to have the ordinary citizenship rights everyone else has .... nothing special and changing the millenia old definition of marraige isn't required for that anymore than it is for incestuous folks or group marraige folks.

Of course, I am satirizing there but I right in that that IS the view of the gay marraige movement .... civil unions are a second class insult to gays. You think you're being noble and tolerant for saying you're for them but in fact, in the view of the gay marraige movement, you're just another Taliban.

If thats not right, can you explain why in CA where gays have had access to civil unions since 1999, there is a contentious issue over gay marraige?

I bolded that because I'd like you to try to answer it for a change.
