I have 1 alias. I've had it since I was a young'un working my way around the world. I go on SI about once a week. When the boss demands it, I go on once a month. Generally, there isn't much worth reading outside of ahhaha's bastion; besides, the locals are generally hostile when confronted with ideas beyond their own. Witness the three replies I received.

I have a job that requires me to travel to many places around the world and work with people who have experiences and ideas different from my own. That job has allowed me to gain a global perspective on what happens inside and outside of the United States.

I understand that some (maybe many) on SI have the mindset of many academics. I.e, close-minded and myopic. Maybe they don't have the requisite life experiences to attain a global perspective. Maybe they're so set in their daily mind-routines that they can't see beyond the propaganda and that is spoon-fed to them every day. Propaganda comes in all forms and from all quarters. The mind is the ultimate prison and free thought is the rarest of resources.

There's a big world out there and an army of myth makers on the job. They can't fool me though. I'm not partaking of the Kool-Aid even if everyone else has succumbed to the taste.
