Hello paul, I keep having to remind myself and so I try to remind others that the nature of what we face may not be simply (i) the death of the dollar (relative to the birth of some other paper money), (ii) the decline of an empire (against the rise of any new sovereign), (iii) the demise of debt timed to coincide the reappearance of savings, (iv) the onset of severe regret of an entire generation of sinners as their twilight years make appearance, stage left, or (v) the onset of the darkest interregnum in all aspect of life, as one scheme breaks up in dying anguish but before another convolution rise amidst birthing cries.
We could all simply be witnessing the same big picture, but from all the minute angles of observation, all seeing the correct but very detailed pictures, but mostly failing to step back so as to appreciate the gloriously dire big tapestry otherwise dominated by the defining alignment of primary force, the irresistible, not to be denied, and awe-inspiring Kondratieff Cycle lewrockwell.com
Meaning we are facing the onset of winter, or worse, the return of the ice age, and when and if trying to figure out whether to cut some firewood, should instead be thinking of heading to the equator?
The central issue is the mind-boggling debt pile, both on and off balance sheet that cannot be funded by any stretch of truly available real savings, the trigger is interest rate, and when not if that pile crumbles down, empires end, kingdoms disintegrate, food disappears from shelves, and gas pumps go dry. Worse, politics turn tyrannical, and populations get agitated.
Should my fears prove unfounded, wonderful, and if otherwise, we would be blessed with an interesting learning experience of once in a whole lot of generations.
