Maybe you need to review your history of the sweat shops Charles Dickens wrote about, and the subjugation of the worker during the beginning of the industrial revolution and up to the early 20th century here and in Europe.

Workers were treated like dogs, used and abused beyond anything one can imagine today, with virtually no rights at all. It was a horrible time for the working man. The reason FDR strengthened unions.

I just wish a few more people would scrutinize the corporations behavior as much as they do the unions!!

How soon we forget.

>>Thank you for your insightful response. You have cut to the heart of the problem which has resulted in a cancerous entitlement ideology (owing to non-competition for jobs which are effectively tenured once hired) amongst many public "servants" (surely an oxymoron).

Somehow, the level of competition for public jobs needs to be increased...more teacher's colleges, more police academies, more fire department training colleges etc! Just too much fa, too much job security and too much pension for this "protected" environmental niche. :-)
