Isn't the auction a government ploy to raise money buy re-selling already dedicated spectrum? Many small providers have already built on the channels, they will have to be moved.

Actually this will be good for the system, because, as I undrstand it, Nextel was concerned with major city and highway coverage. Now, they can expand into more remote areas.

Look into the future, your ranch will now have wireless coverage, every animal will have a transponder so gps can track them, and you can just sit in your comfy family room and count the $ 100 bills.

I got a better idea. Lets try to get Wendy's phone number from Arnie and we can all take a shot for a lunch meeting.
