Thanks!

So, for CONGRESS ONLY (not WH, not States, etc.), and for this CURRENT 2009/2010 election cycle ONLY, the campaign contributions currently pile up (remember: 2010 ain't anywhere *near* to over yet! Lot's more money coming in this cycle yet!) this way:

1 Lawyers/Law Firms

2 Health Professionals
(Add the Doctors and the Drug companies together under 'health care' and you might have a new perennial #1 <g>)

3 Retired

4 Securities/Invest
5 Real Estate
6 Insurance
(But, damn... 'Financial Services' writ large is a big, big spender on politicians!)

7 Lobbyists
(Guess "lobbyist" probably means: "all of the big spenders" :-)

8 Leadership PACs
9 Bldg Trade Unions

10 Pharm/Health Prod
(Back to 'health care'....)

etc.

But in the last full election cycle (2008) it was this way:

1 Lawyers/Law Firms

2 Retired

3 Securities/Invest
4 Real Estate
('Financial Services'....)

5 Health Professionals

6 Education

7 Misc Business
8 Business Services

9 Insurance
10 Misc Finance
(More 'Financial Services'....)

Anyway you cut it, Bill... it seems that 'Wall Street / Financial Services' and 'Health Care' in general are ALWAYS big, big spenders on politicians....
