Unbelievable: <Making a last-ditch effort to save his health care overhaul, President Barack Obama on Monday put forward a nearly $1 trillion, 10-year compromise that would allow the government to deny or roll back egregious insurance premium increases that infuriated consumers.> finance.yahoo.com

Slavery makes a return to the USA. "You have to work for us for the price we are willing to pay, which is bugger-all".

Here's a prediction - if the government denies or rolls-back insurance premium increases which somebody doesn't like [which is of course nearly all of the economically illiterate people voting themselves into destitution, poverty, hunger, desolation, confusion and self-destruction] then there won't be any insurance.

The tax payers, all 7 of them, will be required to provide medical insurance for 300 million people [including illegal immigrants and other criminals] at the rate set by government from the government's own insurance department. That will not work.

Warren Buffett is getting old and $ill Gates is giving away his money to his charitable trust. Wall Street profits are not particularly reliable as a tax source - Wall Street seems to be a tax drain rather than gain. Just who are the tax payers? Hmmm... note to self, watch out for USA-based assets... check price of gold.

There is some satisfaction in seeing the logical outcome of decades of Big BIGGER and BIGGEST government and people voting for more of the same.

The interesting part is yet to come. Perhaps this will just be another 1982 type crunch, but the amount of debt, the number of mortgagee sales, the proportion of unemployed, the competitive position compared with other countries, the burden of government, with intentions of doubling that burden and doubling it again, suggests quite a problem when states are going broke and Zimbabwe economics beckon.

Hint... if you can't afford your cholesterol drugs, your blood thinners, your diabetes treatment, your SUV, and can't get a job because you can't waddle as far as the elevator .... the problems will solve themselves. No more groceries until you are light enough to walk to the store, you won't need anti-cholesterol drugs when your blood is scavenging every nook and cranny of your body looking for something to fuel your residual functions of heart and brain. Get out an old photo of men working in the Great Depression clearing raupo or building roads or something. When you look like that, it'll be time to pick up a shovel and do some shovel-ready work. Do you look like this yet? usbr.gov

Michelle Obama is worried about fat children. That problem should fix itself as the money runs out.
