OK, good. That's not what you meant, but that wasn't clear.

Then you state: "Therefore! (figure out what must happen)"

Well, let's review the possibilities...

[1] Go on a self-righteous rampage, Mish-style: fire everybody, and disband unions.

Or ...

[2] Convene meetings with labor (remembering they are not responsible for the financial and economic crises in the trillions and they negotiated these agreements lawfully) - and try to work out some compromises.

Go Mish-style and you'll see government administration grind to a halt. You'll incite radical behavior, hatred and polarization; there'll be long-term disruption.

Stop treating union people as if they're from a different planet: as if they're enemies. Sit down, reason and negotiate with people who also have an interest in the institutions where they live.

So far, that obvious solution hasn't seen the light of day. Especially here.
