Not all proponents of same sex marriage are motivated by a desire to drive Christians out of child welfare services, but that will be the result nevertheless.

You ought to acknowledge that and acknowledge that you're willing to see it happen regardless of the consequences for freedom of religious conscience or chidrens welfare.

As for science saying being gay is not a choice, so what? I don't doubt that sado-masochism or pedophilia aren't choices either but that doesn't mean we're required to normalize those things. I'm sure all kinds of sexual deviants act out of a strong compulsion that they didn't choose to have. Should we legally recognize transexuals or cross dressers as women because they may so identify? Should we recognize sexual slavery as an institution because some dominance-submission types call themselves master and slave?

Sure, most gays aren't as dangerous to society as some other sexual minorities like pedophiles but again so what? Are we to proclaim every sexual minority a victim group with rights to insist that society give their sexual compulsion the same formal recognition given to marriage? No.
