To go further, this whole mess was caused by a lack of regulation. Massive frauds were perpetrated by the financial industry. Based upon the fraudulent data, homebuyers, municipalities, companies like Circuit City, and unions made some very stupid decisions.

But don't place all the blame the patient if a crooked doctor insists that a pill he sells for $5,000 will cure their appendicitis, and the patient subsequently dies.

It wasn't suicide, it was murder. And the perps are in the financial industry, not the homeowner's associations and union halls.
