"Yes John, you can vote. But when both mainstream political parties are captured, your votes don't matter."

That's why I don't vote for candidates in the mainstream parties. Sure I only have one vote, and I'll be overwhelmed, and people will laugh at me. But I'm not going to waste y vote on someone I don't want. I have a loud voice, and I never stop talking about what I think is right. People join me, more of them each year. And some of them have loud voices and bring in new people, and so on.

Though the odds against meaningful change are long, I don't believe in flying an airplane into a building. I believe in talking to other citizens or shareholders, one at a time, until we effect change. It may take a long time, but violence is counter-productive and wrong. On the bright side, there is a pivot point where our minority grows so fast, the rest join in, as in the Civil Rights movement and the effort to stop the Viet Nam War. It could happen again, and if it doesn't, I'll still be proud of my work and I'll still be doing it.
