Follow up to yesterday's big news from Walmart.

Indirectly, there is no question Sonic will benefit since digital distrib to the TV room will be at a faster pace because of Walmart's entry now that they have purchased a Sonic competitor, Vudu. Directly, it looked like a blow to Sonic, but this analyst suggests that Sonic may be benefit because they have technology that allows a movie purchased through a Walmart 'website' on an electronic device to be played on other electronic devices. Think about a house with 2 different TVs...Sonic allows the movie to be played on both no matter what they are. Vudu, as far as we know, does not. So, Vudu (Walmart) will need to offer than and to do so may decide to pay Sonic to use their tech. (Note: Sonic is CinemaNow):
