The Reps are in the minority. In most governments, they would have no say in anything, and the party in power would actually pass their election platform through parliament as promised. The Reps now have two positions; stop everything, and demand that anything that does go forward be reduced to their lower common denominator. It's a delusional, obstructive approach to politics but nothing we haven't seen many times in the last 20 years. Obama needs to undermine it by getting his programs passed.
