" it is not all the unions.."

Mish's argument is that unions should not negotiate in their own interest. They should just take what they get. However, he doesn't argue that for management. He doesn't argue that for corporations. He doesn't argue against bargaining and negotiation for anyone but unions.

But union leadership is democratically elected, and has a duty IN LAW to negotiate for its members: the duty of fair representation.

To follow Mish's logic, the lawyer representing you would just walk into court and say "My client's guilty. Throw the book at him!"

Or a baseball player's agent would accept the lowest possible price for his client.

Is that the way it works in business? No! Businesses charge what the market will bear - and you don't get to negotiate.

That's what Mish is opposing for unions. He doesn't mind corruption and ripoffs in the trillions, as long as they're done by his favorite people. When working people outnegotiate incompetent and corrupt management, he gets on a rant.

He simply cannot understand what it's like when everyone does their job honestly, competently, and within the law.

Jim
