In Canada I suspect that they see themselves as paying into healthcare to take care of "us."

In this country a lot of money and marketing strategy has gone into promoting the notion that we will be spending "our" healthcare money to take care of "them."

And the "them"...lazy, steak eating welfare frauds, illegal immigrants, fat people smoking cigarettes and drinking wine, drug users...all taking money out of the pockets of hard working, church going, "I made it on my own", red blooded Americans.

It's shocking to note how effectively the politics of division have been employed to further the ends of insurance companies, shallow politicians and big business. It's the lifeblood of the current crop of Republican politicians and it's costing this country dearly. Ed
