Many years ago after skiing we stopped at a little gambling joint right on the Ca-Nevada border. We were the only ones in the place. The staff was great. Totally indulgent with us. Dice were flying off the table, we were laughing like fools. Total blast. I doubt you'd ever find a place like that today. I never go into a casino anymore. They just seems sad and grim to me. The constant ringing and clanging is oppressive. And you know there are a thousand eyes on you at every moment. Ugh.
