Source in Europe said Philips is releasing a digital
recorder with removable storage. I saw a picture of device
which was faxed to me. This handheld device was shown at
Cebit in Feb. 96 and uses SRAM for its removable memory.
This is volatile memory which requires constant power source
to retain data. Unit supposed to sell for approx. $
1000./unit. Norris has International patents on their
product & if Philips was using flash memory, it would be
patent infringement. The west coast Consumer Retail Buyers
conference was held in Laguna Nigel's Ritz Carlton Hotel
earlier this week. An attendee told me Andy Robson did an
excellent presentation and introduced Bob Root to the
conference. Circuit City, Frys Electronics, Comp-USA,
Merisal, Ingrham, and other VAR's and retail outlets liked
what Norris showed. Would expect orders were placed at this
show. On today's bid and ask there was only 1(m.mkr.) on
each side much of the day. (Storm Fran on SE coast
disrupted security data relays and may have accounted for
lesser market makers showing on trading screens.) Expect
next week to have announcements made re: domicile and name
change to NCI. Anticipate stock symbol to drop last letter
F. Doubt if California retail outlets will be showing
product till 9-16-96.
