When 83% say that say the size of the federal budget deficit is due more to the unwillingness of politicians to cut government spending than to the reluctance of taxpayers to pay more in taxes, its a significant fact, not some tricky phrasing.

And I think its trick phrasing when people say they are willing to pay higher taxes but their objection is that gov't spending is too high.

Let's get some facts out on the table.......so long as we are 300+ million strong with a fairly complex culture, we will never have small gov't. That's gone with the wind.....literally. At one time the US was a small, agrarian society.......there was no need for a large gov't. Those days are long gone.

Now can spending be reduced. Of course.....there is a waste......look at how much the military pays for toilet seats or gaskets. The military is a prime example of overspending.....and getting ripped off. And is there too much pork? Of course, and it needs to be reduced. That means its possible to save billions in spending, not trillions.....like you all dream about.

Truth is, Tim, the jig is up. This game the Rs have been playing for 3 decades whereby they cut the taxes to their consituents, the rich, hoping that that will force the gov't to reduce spending is not working for some very good reasons. So its got to stop.......the rich must pay more taxes. End of story.
