"If life on earth is his purpose, he has a right to live as a rational being".

This is an interesting conditional Rand has included. It shows that she took every word seriously and wanted them to reflect reality exactly. Does she mean that IF an individual man has death as a purpose, THEN he has no right to life? I think she does and it makes sense. And (again) it answers Nozick's confusion...

As to Greg or e's knee jerk reaction...he is not aware that the only thing that protects him from other fanatical religious groups and prevents the world from being a blood soaked battlefield of the superstitious is the rational rights instituted by secular governments based on human existence and having nothing whatsoever to do with the myriad religious dogmas which smash and collide under the banners of the superstitious with their "superior gods".

The mystics of force and faith cannot stand reality. They hate it with their entire being. Remember their panic and terror in Atlas Shrugged as they tried to evade it?!
