Gee, I wonder if the accelerator thing is a more common problem then I had believed. Friend who drove my mother-in-law's Toyota Avalon on highway from inland California to Las Vegas last month, now says he noticed "sticky accelerator or hesitation" issue with the car

Yesterday, the car was in the dealership for the recall, and got the fix. Ha!-- Yes the fix all right: My mother-in-law says they charged her $64 because they had to clean the battery terminals.
