They only became our allies because Japan attacked us. We had no alliance with them before 12/7/41

Germany did declare war on us, but if they had refrained from doing so, they still would have faced our attacks and rightfully so. Other weaker allies of Japan and Germany that didn't initiate combat against us, or declare war on us, faced our attacks.

After 9/11 we gave the Taliban a chance to repudiate Al Qaeda and turn over as much of the Al Qaeda leadership as they could. They refused.
